John Stephens, how I got hooked on golf
The first game of golf I can remember was at Barooga on a work trip when I was about 30. I never really got into golf when I was playing cricket. Then I drove a par four and I was hooked.
Cootamundra Golf Club is the only club I've been a member of, although I've played plenty of other courses.
My best mates are my cricket mates, and that's flowed into golf. In my early golfing days I played with Daryl Sedgwick. These days I play with Adam Twyford, and I always love a game with Eric Koetz when we're away on a cricket tour.
My best round is 78, seven over par, at Cootamundra. I'm still waiting for my first hole-in-one.
I've been fortunate to play some great courses. Playing at Millbrook in New Zealand and The Grange in Adelaide are two of my most memorable golfing experiences.
But Cootamundra means the most to me. I love the course because the layout is totally unique. It's played over a hill range with slopes, twists and tough greens.
