In 1971, BILL THOMPSON (#185) and ALAN GRAY (#26) added 104 unbeaten for the 1st wicket for A grade v Churches. With only an hour left in the match and after Waratahs lost on the first innings, Thompson hit 84 runs (8 sixes & 7 fours) in just 45 minutes (11 eight ball overs) to deliver an outright victory. The first 50 came in three overs. Earlier, R OWEN (#244) held 3 catches as Churches folded for just 74 in their second innings.
