The 2008/09 season was an outstanding one for Peter Lindsay in 2nd grade under skipper Ben King, earning him the club’s 2nd grade batting award and Most Improved Player at season’s end.

Batting mainly at number 8, Lindsay produced a remarkable 468 runs at 36, including a century and two half-centuries, while also contributing heavily with the ball, taking 19 wickets with the new rock.

His standout innings came against North Sydney where he hit a superb 128 at Bon Andrews Oval, while his 61 at Manly Oval against Mosman was arguably one of his most important contributions for the season as Manly scored 260 by tea and then rolled Mosman in the final session to set up an outright win the following Saturday.

Lindsay saved another one of his best performances for the finals, producing a brilliant 52 not out in the Quarter Final against Campbelltown-Camden as Manly chased 280 in less than a day to win their way through to the semi-final, where unfortunately they would go down to a strong Sydney Uni side at Manly Oval.
