Lismore defeat Casino to be Lismore Interdistrict Premiers 1984-85

RYAN LEADS LISMORE TO INTERDISTRICT WIN

All-rounder Michael Ryan led Lismore to an easy victory over Casino in the interdistrict cricket final at Oakes Oval, Lismore, scoring a century and taking three wickets.

Ryan top-scored with 102, as Lismore totalled 8/280 off its 60 overs. Casino was dismissed for 178, with Ryan claiming 3/39 off 12 overs of off-spin.

Ryan received good support from openers Graham Gooley (41) and Scott Stuckey (20), Craig Maddox (43), Stuart Fiedler (38) and Laurie Tillman (26 not out).

Tillman, the veteran of the Lismore side, also turned in a fine all-round performance, taking 3/32 off 10 overs of medium pace.

Peter Black (29) and John Black (25) got Casino off to a good start, adding 61 for the first wicket, but the innings folded without much resistance after their dismissals.

In the B grade final, a century by Mallanganee’s Lance Hill was not enough to give his side victory over Kyogle.

Kyogle scored 231 and dismissed Mallanganee for 210, with Hill scoring 101.
