Ryan Bishop-Perrett, better known as RBP, is a terrific example of what can be achieved through hard work, perseverance and a willingness to continually improve.

Unlike many players who go on to establish themselves in the higher grades, Ryan did not play junior representative cricket or Green Shield. Instead, through sheer determination and commitment, he carved out a highly successful grade career that would be the envy of many.

Ryan trained exceptionally hard during the pre-season of 2014/15, earning selection in 5th Grade. From there, he steadily improved with each season and became an important member of a number of successful Manly teams.

Across his career, Ryan has been part of three premiership-winning teams and has consistently played important roles in the biggest matches of the season. He has also contributed to multiple Club Championship victories.

His ability to perform when it mattered most was particularly evident in the 2020/21 2nd Grade Grand Final against St George at Manly Oval. In a four-innings thriller, Ryan claimed 4 wickets, including all three of St George’s top-order batsmen, helping Manly secure the 2nd Grade premiership.

He was again instrumental in the 2023/24 4th Grade Grand Final, earning Player of the Match honours after making a crucial 14 from 97 balls as Manly batted Northern Districts out of the contest. He then backed up his disciplined batting performance with outstanding figures of 3/28.

In the 2024/25 season, Ryan once again took a wicket in the 4th Grade Grand Final as Manly secured a fourth consecutive 4th Grade premiership.

Across his Manly career, Ryan has taken 203 wickets at an outstanding average of 20.06, including three five-wicket hauls and a career-best return of 6/15.
