Vale Billy Moffatt

It is my sad duty to inform that one of Petersham-Marrickville’s greatest all rounders and characters, Billy Moffatt, passed away peacefully on Monday 28 September with his family by his side. He had been in Queensland following a medical transfer just one week. Bill was 81.

A left-hand bat and left-arm medium pace bowler, Bill played with Petersham-Marrickville between 1964 and 1975. He scored 4,404 runs and took 248 wickets from 161 matches. He was particularly effective in 1st Grade where he scored 2,627 runs and took 178 wickets with 8-30 against North Sydney at North Sydney Oval his best figures. He was a member of the 1974-75 1st Grade premiership team.

RIP Billy Moffatt. One of the Sydney Grade Cricket greats.
